Sumiyosiya was established nearly 150 years ago in 1869 near the hot spring source “Ogama” known as the “Kitchen of the Village” of Nozawa Onsen. We value the stately appearance of our inn and the cleanliness of the interior, as well as simplicity, warmth and kindness that underlies the “omotenashi” hospitality we show from our dependably common spirit.
 Our romantic, early 20th-century bathing area features a bathtub illuminated by sunlight streaming in through stained-glass windows.
The free-flowing water that gushes out of our water source is very fresh, very pure, and very hot. One attraction is to make the rounds of the 13 other bathing areas in our network scattered throughout the hot springs village. Our seasonal dishes feature local vegetables and seasonal wild vegetables and ingredients, and our chefs pour their creativity into dishes packed with seasonal vegetables. We honor time-tested traditional techniques as we prepare torimawashibachi local dishes. The taste of nozawana (a Japanese mustard green) grown in its natural habitat has a distinct richness, sweetness and freshness. Nozawa Onsen Snow Resort is one of the largest ski resorts in Japan.
 We allow check-in at noon to enable our guests to take their time and enjoy a relaxing vacation.We want to be the type of inn that customers leave feeling refreshed and completely relaxed.
